Transparent by design

Understand the data before using the output

TopoWizard organizes available terrain and mapping information for early architectural work. Coverage, resolution and completeness vary by location.

Current source categories

Terrain elevation is prepared from AWS Terrain Tiles using Terrarium-encoded elevation data. Contextual vector information and location search use OpenStreetMap-based services, while the basemap uses Protomaps. Requests may be routed through the TopoWizard backend.

  • Elevation: AWS Terrain Tiles
  • Context: OpenStreetMap through configured Overpass endpoints
  • Location search: OpenStreetMap Nominatim
  • Basemap: Protomaps hosted tiles

Why results vary

Source resolution, map completeness, coastlines, vegetation, buildings and road coverage can differ between locations. A visible feature may be generalized, outdated or absent from an online dataset.

Not survey-grade

TopoWizard is intended for site understanding, feasibility, concept design, coordination and presentation. It does not replace a topographic, cadastral, utility or construction survey.

  • Verify legal boundaries with the relevant authority or cadastral survey
  • Verify levels and terrain with a commissioned topographic survey
  • Verify utilities with the responsible consultants and authorities
  • Do not use generated output as construction information

Review before export

Inspect the available terrain and context for the selected site before relying on it in a design workflow. If coverage is incomplete or the decision is safety-, legal- or construction-critical, use professionally verified project data.
